At its Neuss site, GLS Germany faced two key communication challenges. Inside the facility, employees working across different areas found it difficult to communicate with one another quickly and efficiently. Outside, a communication gap existed between on-site staff and the truck drivers and transport personnel operating in the yard.

Effective communication is essential to the site's daily operations. Employees inside the building direct drivers to the appropriate gates for delivering or collecting containers, which are then loaded and dispatched to destinations across different cities and countries. Delays or misunderstandings in communicating gate assignments can disrupt vehicle turnaround times and compromise dispatch reliability.

A Complete DMR Solution for Daily Operations

M&W Funktechnik equipped the GLS Germany site in Neuss with Caltta PH600 DMR radios, supplied with headsets and microphones to support clear communication in the busy, high-noise logistics environment. Eight-way charging stations were also provided, enabling staff to charge, store and manage the radios centrally between shifts.
