Since late July, the North China region has been continuously hit by heavy rainfall, causing river water to surge and flash floods to occur frequently in areas such as Yixian in Baoding, Chengde Luanping, and Chengde Xinglong in Hebei. This has made the flood control situation extremely severe, with various regions initiating emergency rescue missions. The continuous heavy rainfall has caused road obstructions and communication interruptions in some areas, bringing huge challenges to frontline command and multi-team coordination.
To ensure smooth rescue operations, Caltta responded quickly, fully supporting the Hebei Provincial Emergency Management Department, the National North China Regional Emergency Rescue Center, and the Hebei Mobile Unit of the National Fire Rescue Bureau. Upon receiving the reinforcement order from the rescue teams, two SmartLink600 narrow-band self-organizing network mobile stations, a batch of 370MHz radios, and engineers coordinating with partners were immediately dispatched overnight to the frontline of the National North China Regional Emergency Rescue Center. They quickly established communication links between the rescue site and the forward command post, and between the forward command post and the National Fire Rescue Bureau Command Center.
In the complex terrain and extreme weather conditions, Caltta quickly established a complete three-dimensional communication system through the flexible deployment of various emergency communication devices and the integration of multiple communication methods, ensuring efficient coordination between the frontline and the rear, providing a solid guarantee for the rescue teams.
High Mountain Base Station Direct to Rear Command
At Luanping County, Chengde, deploy a SmartLink580 fixed station to establish stable communication between the frontline command post and the Provincial Department and North China Regional Center.
Flexible Coverage with Mobile and Aerial Networking
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with PDT cluster mobile base stations BS8700M work in coordination with ground-based self-organizing network mobile stations to quickly establish a 370MHz emergency network in areas isolated by floods.
At Liudaogou, Xinglong, Chengde, an additional SmartLink600 self-organizing network mobile station is deployed, with one unit acting as an IP node to connect with the national bureau and regional rear command. The remaining units relay along the search route, establishing communication links between the rescue site and the command center.
Multi-mode Terminals Ensure Coordinated Operations
Equipped with multi-mode terminals GH960S, ensuring that the rescue teams can complete voice communication and dispatch tasks in complex environments.
Through a "high mountain fixed + ground mobile + aerial support" three-dimensional communication system, Caltta has provided full-link protection from local coverage to cross-regional command for the frontline rescue efforts.
Currently, many parts of Hebei are still in a critical period for flood control, and rescue work is ongoing. The Caltta emergency communication team will continue to stay on the front lines, ensuring the efficient operation of equipment and responding promptly to new communication needs. In this race against time to fight floods, Caltta is using reliable communication capabilities to safeguard frontline rescue operations and protect the safety of people's lives and property.
